Checklist for Parents of High School Juniors
- Be sure your student is taking required college preparatory English classes.
- Be sure your student registers and completes the Roadmap on this website.
- Encourage your student to participate in EAP.
- Encourage your student to take the SAT or ACT national college placement tests.
Checklist for Parents of High School Seniors– Fall Semester
- Check to see if your student’s SAT or ACT scores are high enough to meet the EPT requirement.
- Look for your student’s EAP student report in late summer or early fall. The report will either be given to your student by his/her English teacher or mailed to your home.
- If your student’s EAP status is NOT YET DEMONSTRATING READINESS FOR CSU COLLEGE-LEVEL ENGLISH COURSES, be sure that your student begins to prepare early for the EPT Exam by selecting the appropriate English class (go to Student Tips) and using the online Exam Prep tools.
Checklist for Parents of High School Seniors– Spring Semester
- If your student has not met the EPT Requirement by February, make sure that he/she begins preparing for the EPT exam.
- Encourage your student to register for the EPT exam
in early spring.
